2026-09-29 14:22:34

We are Liming Heavy Industry, a manufacturer of various types of industrial crushers, such as Raymond Mill, Trapezoidal Mill, Vertical Mill, Ultrafine Mill, Ball Mill, etc.
Our mills can process the following minerals:
limestone, quicklime, kaolin, talc, barite, bentonite, calcium carbonate, dolomite, coal, gypsum, clay, carbon black, slag, cement raw materials, cement clinker, etc.
If you need a mill to process stone or minerals into powder, please feel free to contact me (WhatsApp: +8615333807511). Thank you.

The MTW European Mill is a grinding solution for processing cooled quicklime into controlled powder for applications such as flue gas desulfurization, chemical processing, mineral processing and building materials. Its grinding and classification system can be configured according to the required quicklime powder fineness and production capacity.

Processing Cooled Quicklime into Fine Powder

Quicklime grinding starts after the material has been calcined and sufficiently cooled. Depending on the incoming lump size, oversized quicklime may first pass through a suitable size-reduction stage before entering the grinding system.

The prepared material is continuously fed into the MTW European Mill, where it is ground and then classified. Qualified fine powder is collected as the finished product, while coarse particles are returned for further grinding.

This closed grinding process helps maintain a consistent finished powder and allows the product fineness to be adjusted according to the downstream application.

Why the MTW European Mill Can Be Used for Quicklime

Quicklime powder production requires more than simply reducing the size of CaO lumps. The grinding system also needs to provide controlled classification, stable feeding and effective powder collection.

The MTW European Mill integrates grinding, classification, powder collection and conveying into a complete grinding system. Its vertical layout and enclosed material-handling arrangement can help create a compact plant configuration while supporting continuous operation.

Quicklime Powder Fineness and Capacity

The required product fineness should be established according to the final application. Quicklime used for flue gas desulfurization may require a defined powder specification, while chemical or mineral-processing applications may have different requirements.

The MTW European Mill covers a range of conventional powder requirements, with available configurations selected according to the required capacity and fineness. For example, a project requiring 200-mesh quicklime powder with D90 should be evaluated according to both the target particle size and the required hourly production.

The actual mill configuration should be determined from the quicklime feed size, material characteristics, capacity and finished-product requirements.

MTW European Mill for Flue Gas Desulfurization

Quicklime powder can be used as a reactive material in various flue gas desulfurization processes. Consistent particle size is important because the finished powder needs to meet the requirements of the particular desulfurization system.

The MTW European Mill can provide controlled grinding and classification for projects where the required powder fineness falls within its suitable operating range. The grinding system can be combined with dust collection and finished-product storage for continuous lime powder production.

Complete Quicklime Grinding System

A typical MTW-based quicklime powder plant can include:

  • Cooled quicklime receiving and storage

  • Feed-size preparation when required

  • Controlled feeding equipment

  • MTW European Mill

  • Classification and powder collection

  • Finished-product conveying

  • Quicklime powder storage

  • Bulk loading or bag packing

Enclosed conveying and collection equipment can also help reduce dust during material transfer and protect the quicklime from unnecessary exposure to moisture.

What Should Be Confirmed Before Selecting an MTW Mill?

The following information is useful when designing a quicklime grinding system:

  • Quicklime feed size

  • Required production capacity

  • Target powder fineness

  • Particle-size distribution requirements

  • Quicklime quality and material characteristics

  • Final application

  • Finished-product storage and delivery method

These parameters determine whether an MTW European Mill is appropriate and which configuration should be used.

MTW European Mill for Reliable Quicklime Powder Production

The MTW European Mill provides a practical option for producing conventional fine quicklime powder from cooled CaO. By combining grinding, classification and powder collection in an integrated system, it can be incorporated into continuous quicklime powder plants for different industrial applications.

Liming Heavy Industry can configure an MTW European Mill grinding system according to the customer's quicklime characteristics, production capacity and finished-powder requirements.
