A complete calcium carbonate grinding and coating plant converts limestone or calcite into controlled GCC powder through crushing, grinding, air classification, collection, surface treatment, storage, and packing.

The best calcium carbonate grinding mill depends on the required particle-size distribution, especially D50 and D97, as well as raw material hardness, moisture, whiteness, capacity, final application, and whether the GCC powder will remain uncoated or receive stearic acid surface treatment.

Coated calcium carbonate powder is produced by grinding high-purity limestone or calcite into controlled GCC particle sizes, classifying the powder to remove oversize particles, and applying a uniform surface treatment—commonly stearic acid—to improve compatibility with plastics, rubber, PVC, masterbatch, cable compounds, and other organic systems.

Coated calcium carbonate is surface-treated—most commonly with stearic acid—to improve compatibility with organic polymers, while uncoated calcium carbonate retains its natural hydrophilic mineral surface and is often preferred for water-based, mineral, ceramic, paper, and general filler applications.
