Ordinary Portland cement (OPC) remains the dominant hydraulic binder in global construction due to its excellent mechanical performance, wide availability, and well-established production technology.

For grinding barite into 200-400 mesh powder (roughly 74 to 38 microns), a Raymond Mill or MTW European Grinding Mill fitted with a matched cyclone and bag-type dust collector is the standard and most cost-effective solution.

For mainstream 80–325 mesh calcite powder, the MTW European Grinding Mill is usually the most balanced choice because it combines stable throughput, controlled classification, and moderate operating cost; for powder finer than 400 mesh, the LUM Ultrafine Vertical Roller Mill or MW Micro Powder Mill is generally more suitable.

For ceramic production, feldspar is most commonly ground in a ball mill, usually with alumina lining and alumina grinding media when iron contamination must be minimized.

Maintenance cost for a limestone grinding mill typically falls in the range of 0.10 to 0.25 USD per ton of processed material for Raymond mills and vertical roller mills operating on moderate-hardness limestone, though this figure varies significantly with silica content, feed size consistency, and whether hardfacing is applied to wear parts.
